Key responsibilities:Trend research - Continually view online blogs such as Fashion Beans, publications including GQ and visit vintage markets and inspirational brands to identify influential trends.Brand awareness - Visit company stores regularly to understand consumer profiles and store grades, as well as demographics.Comp shops - Review the market to recognise opportunities in terms of product and price. Produce detailed report of trends, colour, price points and option count for team and management review.Negotiation - Negotiate cost prices to meet target margins and deliver affordable prices to a price sensitive market, working alongside the merchandising team to implement company and department strategy.Sales analysis - Identify and present good new reactions to team in trade meeting, and previous season’s best and worst sellers in initial meetings per season.

Key responsibilities:Range building - Developed and implemented the jewellery range for the last eight months under the Buyer’s guidance and presented the range to the Buyer and Controller.Product design - Led product development meetings with design to create jewellery development from components and held an active role in development meetings with suppliers. Sourced and set up a good working relationship with a new supplier after recognising the need for a fashion forward input for jewellery.Store layout - Actively arranged the layout of ranges in all store and top store, considering best sellers and trend. Direct communication with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure effective layout and signage used and store guidance sent for new product and range launches.Management - Trained and managed the Buyer’s Clerk and oversee the critical path, administration and sample duties.Packaging - Product variation required constant communication with the packaging manager, warehouse and suppliers to ensure packaging and parcels are correct for delivery.
