Lauren is a current Master’s-level counseling intern at UNT’s clinical mental health counseling program at the Child and Family Resource Clinic. She works with children, ages 3-10, teens, and young adults. Lauren believes that when given a warm and empathetic space, clients have the innate capacity to strive for personal growth and restoration. When working with children, she believes in a holistic approach to helping the family move toward wellness through a tailored and individualized approach. Lauren sees and values the importance of parental mental health and wellbeing. She has worked with neurodiverse children, teens, and young adults, as well as issues relating to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. During her Master's coursework, Lauren worked for the Neurodiversity Initiative at the University of North Texas and serve over 30 neurodiverse students through one-on-one mentoring and case management. Previously, Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Bowling Green State University focusing on developmental psychopathology and family & social services. Additionally, she worked as a Resident Advisor in two residence halls serving over 1,000 residents over the course of three years through programming and engagement activities.
