Geocoded their addresses and created shapefiles of each type of provider which included location, business hours, contact information, and estimates of patient capacities. These point shapefiles were then overlaid with historic hurricane information to estimate the number of patients displaced by large scale weather events. Also worked some with SPSS to code responses to telephone surveys in order to assess people’s perception of risk during severe weather events from the Eastern Shore of Virginia to the southern coast of North Carolina.
