Hi, my name is Lauren, and I am a 24-year-old female who is passionate about ecology, marine conservation, and the environment. I completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) degree with First Class in 2022 at Flinders University. In May 2024 I completed my Master of Science (higher degree by research) degree with a Distinction with the University of Western Australia. My research has focussed on sea turtle conservation in Australia.My passion for nature and understanding ecology started from a very young age. My time volunteering in nature started in primary school and continues today. I have been lucky enough to be involved in a wide range of conservation projects across several different areas. Over this time, I have developed a range of knowledge of flora and fauna and has led me to my keen interest in research to understand and conserve native species.As for my future, I hope to continue my career in contributing to native species research, whether that be in the marine environment or other land based ecosystems.I am very open to travel and working in regional areas. I feel that I would gain extensive experience doing so. I also enjoy educating others about our environmental and native species, and have been lucky enough to do so through working at Nature Play SA from 2019-2023.I love to surf, go snorkeling/swimming, go on hikes and go camping in my spare time. I am easy to chat to and love to meet new people.
