Mouth Piece is a storytelling podcast that was started by Vanessa Shields in 2015. It invites volunteer storytellers to share experiences at a live event in front of an audience. In 2016 I joined the team to record the audio from these live events and turn it into a finished podcast. In addition to putting the show together I have been the host of each episode for the past two years. During our live recordings I also take the opportunity to capture photos of the storytellers.

In this contract position I planned, scripted, and produced training and promotional videos for Windsor Public Library. The projects required multi-media work including audio, video, microfilm, screencaps, and more. I was often filming in different locations throughout the city and had to manage my own schedule of shooting and editing while meeting deadlines.

As a photographer with Photos Unlimited I worked with clients to capture memories with perfect photos. Whether we were working in an outdoor setting our in our studio, I helped to ensure that graduations, birthdays, family reunions, and more would be commemorated through beautiful images.

In this work study position I would assist with the setup and teardown of musical performances, including microphones and instruments as well as risers, projectors, screens, and chairs. I would also run live video and audio recordings and edit them down for delivery to performers.

I would also help to develop marking rubrics and exam questions, as well as providing marking assistance when required. As the location sound recordist I worked closely with actors, directors, and other crew members to record the cleanest audio possible.

In this role I acted as a liaison between festivals in Windsor and Detroit and CJAM 99.1 FM, including organizing partnerships and advertising deals and writing and recording on-air spots. I also created and managed a digital and physical festival guide that listed local events for the summer of 2015.

For this position I was both audio recordist and boom op (as well as a million other roles on this very small production), which involved preparing the shooting environment to help capture the best sound, running the field recorder, handling the boom, basic equipment maintenance, and ensuring properly labelled files before transferring them to the director/DIT.
