Middle School Therapeutic Program Counselor

I partnered with STEM employers to provide high school students with work-based learning experiences and career exploration. My services included resume and cover letter writing support, teaching interviewing skills, and assisting with job applications in addition to the coordination of job fairs, paid and unpaid internships, mentoring, job shadowing, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, etc.

As Pathways Manager, I oversaw or facilitated numerous teen leadership, academic, and social programs, the implementation of tutoring services for teens, and the support of teens through their college and/or job application processes.

As Education Coordinator, I mainly organized and managed tutoring services as well as educational workshops for club members (ages 7-18). My days were spent preparing after-school educational resources, tutoring youth directly, and managing volunteers in a classroom setting. I also facilitated national youth development programs.

During my service year, I mentored young adults (ages 16-24). I motivated them in their education, progression through the program, and development of their interpersonal as well as job-readiness, financial literacy, and civic engagement skills. I also assisted the Director of Programs by organizing and maintaining all documents pertaining to youth attendance, payroll, and participant status in programs.
