I held a role as part of the team at the new TK Maxx store in Port Glasgow. Mainly, my role consisted of in-store maintenance in ensuring the store is kept tidy and attractive to customers. This also involved merchandising in creating eye-catching displays in the store, promoting products and the latest trends. Additionally, my role focused heavily on delivering excellent customer service. As a result of being a pro active and friendly associate, I received 5-star feedback responses from customers taking part in our online customer satisfaction survey.

Entrepreneurial Scotland's Saltire Scholar Programme invests in Scotland's human potential to find, fuel, and spark the next generation of Scottish business leaders. As part of the Saltire Scholar cohort for 2017, I interned at Grant Property as a Marketing Assistant. To help promote the 2018 programme, I was a Saltire Brand Ambassador for the University of Strathclyde. This involved interviewing possible Saltire Scholar candidates at the Speed Interview stage of the application.

I held a Marketing Internship role over the Summer at Grant Property, working on various projects and marketing tasks within both the Investment and Property Management department. Within my time there, I worked on: • Market research into possible new markets for Grant Property (GP) to reach clients in as well as research into their existing client markets. • Managing social media accounts by creating regular content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. • Designing a new landlord flyer with information on the services GP provide as well as creating a design in line with GP branding. • Creating detailed area descriptions for all the areas GP have properties in, to enhance property listings on the website. • Regularly creating property schedules for new properties bought by GP to then be placed with a client. • Research into relevant awards that GP could enter and creating applications. • Seeking PR opportunities for the new GP internship programme with research into student publications and student unions. • Research into relevant property events in the UK and in their existing markets which can help attract new clients. • Creating blog content for the website covering both information within the investment side of the business targeting potential clients and the property management side with content related to tenants. • Updating property listings on the website by ensuring the information is detailed and accurate as well as ensuring photos are up-to-date. • A data cleanse project, working through their client database ensuring they had all the relevant and up-to-date information on their clients. • Planning a bake sale charity event within the office by organising the logistics as well as a marketing plan to reach out to staff in the office. • Taking part in regular meetings as well as meeting with external partners including charity organisations and marketing/branding organisations.

During my third year at university, I interned at GCHC during term time as part of the Corporate Parternships team. At my time there I worked on two projects. To help improve their Corporate webpage , I did market research into what information they should have on their website as well as how to display it. I then delivered a presentation on my final recommendations. The webpage has now been adapted to reflect these recommended changes. Additionally, I worked on a project to help gain partnerships for The Big Stampede charity campaign in Hamilton. I had the role of sourcing many local businesses and then getting in contact with them to try and get them involved in workplace fundraising.

I had a short employment spell with McColl's working in one of their new convenience stores in Greenock. My responsibilities included serving customers at the till-point and also ensuring the store was kept tidied and well stocked.

My first employment role was as a Sales Assistant in WHSmith in their Greenock store. My main responsibility in my role was serving customers at the till-point. As well as putting transactions through, I also had the role of active selling promotional items to customers and making them feel welcomed in the store. In the store, I regularly worked as part of a small team. During busy periods such as Christmas and for new promotional campaigns, we worked together in order to rearrange the store to ensure it was well presented for customers.
