Dr Lauren May is a globally recognised leader in GPCR Drug Discovery Biology and is currently Co-Director of the GPCR Cardiac Biology Laboratory at Monash University. As the recipient of the 2018 Heart Foundation Paul Korner Innovation Award, Lauren was endorsed for pushing the boundaries of her area with the most innovative Future Leader Fellowship. Lauren is an advocate for ensuring more diverse voices in science, is a member of the 2019 International Women’s Forum (IWFA) Emerging Leaders Cohort and has empowered the careers of her PhD mentees who have gone on to win awards and secure prestigious fellowships in the field. Lauren’s research has led in 40 publications in both leading generalist and discipline specific journals. Her work has over 2000 citations, with demonstrated impact as per reference in the latest edition of the prestigious textbook, “Rang & Dale’s Pharmacology”. She sits on the Editorial Board as review editor for multiple sections in the Frontiers in Pharmacology and recently convened and curated a symposium within the International Experimental Biology conference.
