I've been a business owner, show director, performer, and music teacher for over 20 years. I continue to follow my life's passion to help my community through music education. I love teaching children, but my passion is based more on the brain and teaching society how the arts can help people to be better overall, in their mental health, academics, relationships, motor skills, job preparedness, and all areas of skill development through music and other arts. Connecting people to improve the impact of nonprofits or companies helping our community is also an absolute joy for me.My INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO (IPZ), which contains many band, orchestral, and cultural instruments, is great for corporate or community events and kid parties in addition to schools and organizations. I have taken the IPZ to events for Kennesaw State University, Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Marietta PAL, Marietta Boys & Girls Club, Mission 1:27/Walton Communities, and more. The purpose is to provide people of all ages and abilities with a positive musical experience that can ignite their brain while bringing them instant joy and confidence. Some are specifically for introducing basic band and orchestra instruments to children. There are also scarves and numerous tiny hand instruments to use, and a bell choir that allow people of any skill level to create instant songs together. Each workshop is catered to the needs, goals, and abilities of the specific clientele.I grew up as a part of Marietta City Schools’ award-winning choirs, bands, and musical theater productions, and served as Student Director of Choirs my senior year. I was also in Cobb Children’s Theater (CCT) from 11-18yrs of age, involving every aspect of productions both on and off stage, including stage management. It's not surprising since my mom's parents were performers at The Fox and my parents were both singers/instrumentalists.I majored in music education at Jacksonville University in Florida, where I was in leadership for numerous performance groups and clubs, including Captain of the Women's Rifle Team. I often sang the National Anthem at sporting and community events, plus solos at private parties for university leadership. After 2 years I transferred to KSU and was a vocal student of Dr. Oral Moses.I continued my personal music experiences with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choirs and Georgia Symphony Orchestra Chorus. I love sharing the history of music on both sides of my family, and now I have two loving adult daughters who are talented in many artistic ways and the cycle continues with them.
