Led efforts to streamline historic philanthropic giving and create a new social impact strategy to truly leverage the company’s expertise toward helping to solve some critical challenges in the world. The new strategy focused on front line health workers to strengthen access to health for everyone. Led the creation of a global $250MM commitment to nurses, community health workers, and mid-wives – the access point for many who lack access around the world. Supporting these health workers, with training and education, mental health and resilience, leadership capabilities, etc. The platform continues today, delivering on social impact commitments as well as building positive reputation for the company. Led internal effort to set a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to reach 1 million health workers and 100 MM people over the 10-year period starting in 2020 and achieved that goal in 2023.Led team that delivered J&J’s first Impact Investment – a $50MM fund now called Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures (JJIV).Led all J&J charitable efforts and Foundations including the Johnson & Johnson Foundations, US and Scotland, as well as Employee Engagement efforts and specially-focused charitable platforms and initiatives.

Joined eBay in May 2009 as President of eBay Foundation and led Global Social Innovation for eBay Inc. eBay had a powerful opportunity to leverage its unique business assets to enable positive social and environmental change in the world. Led the development of eBay Inc.’s Social Innovation strategy, focusing on three core areas of impact: creating economic opportunity, powering charitable giving and enabling greener commerce. Led the Social Innovation team’s efforts to bring this vision to life around the world, partnering with employees, customers, retail partners and other stakeholders to help eBay Inc. achieve both positive business performance and lasting social impact.• Work with business leaders to guide efforts and leverage business assets, the platforms, technology, and expertise of employees to drive strategy.• Led the corporate center Social Innovation team, subject matter experts to our business partners. Developed the strategic direction for Starbucks global and local corporate giving programs and employee community programs. Established priorities for giving programs and initiatives, and directed their growth along with the rapid growth of the business. Created partnerships with non governmental organizations and provided short and long-term grants for projects in the US and regions around the world. Also led the giving team, and worked across the organization to integrate corporate social responsibility priorities. Provided leadership for Starbucks response to global and local humanitarian emergencies. The Foundation supported programs in local communities around the world where Starbucks has stores, and also supported social development programs in regions of the world where Starbucks sources its primary products, coffee, tea and cocoa.•Starbucks Social Entrepreneurs FundGlobal grant program developed to support organizations in all 44 countries where Starbucks stores are located - supporting young local social entrepreneurs in their work to improve local and global communities.•Ethos Water GrantsWhen Starbucks acquired Ethos Water in 2005, developed a program through the Starbucks Foundation to support clean water initiatives and projects in communities around the world that need it most.•Coffee, Cocoa, Tea Origin Social Development GrantsDeveloped grant program to provide social development grants in communities where Starbucks primary products are sourced.
