I came up with the idea to set up a Grant Assistance Scheme with Access Your Life to help Disabled people fund mobility aids suited to their needs. I have created multiple resources for users to write grant applications and crowd funders as well as have taken the time to write and apply for individual applications for people.I am currently taking some time out from this position while I focus on uni work & my health but intend to return shortly.

In 2019 I set up A Little Poorly Brighton we are a community group run by chronically ill and disabled people for chronically ill and disabled people. We now have over 650 members across Brighton and Hove and pride ourselves in offering accessible support to people from every walk of life both online and in person. I manage a small team on a voluntary basis and support disabled people across Brighton and Hove. We have multiple services we offer including skills workshops, in person meet ups, art therapy and a whole host of support and advice. ALPB has become a safe space for so many people and I have lots of plans to continue to grow the group

Founder of ALPB in 2019. A Little Poorly Brighton is a community group who aim to tackle isolation amongst disabled people based in Brighton and Hove. We facilitate accessible ‘meet ups’ that help build life skills, provide a safe space for a creative outlet and offer support for the community. We are led by disabled and chronically ill volunteers in Brighton and Hove and founded by Lauren Perry also known as @aticcersguidetolife on social media. Facilitates accessible group meet ups both online and in person. Runs group accounts, social media with use of accessible software, web design. As a disabled person myself I set the group up myself as I knew no other disabled people- there are now over 770 members in Brighton and Hove. ALPB facilitates craft meet ups, help with admin and paperwork, art therapy, a range of skills. All our meet ups are held in accessible locations for wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility and have a disabled toilet and we ensure we also offer a zoom alternative with a live transcript and closed captions. Carers, friends and family are welcome and we create a safe positive space to network and meet likeminded people in Brighton and hove. We arrange to meet fortnightly. throughout the pandemic we provided carepackages to the group and stayed connected online

I am a disability awareness content creator and accessibility advocate who strives for finding accessibility in everyday for all disabled people. I intend to spread awareness across all my social media channels and blog whilst maintaining a lighthearted humorous approach. I’ve had the opportunity to work with lots of amazing companies endorsing their products and throughly enjoy reviewing new products the industry has to offer.I intend to break down barriers for chronically ill young people & help battle internalised ableism through awareness on my blog & social media channel and connect with as many people as I can. Whilst also giving non - disabled people an insight into life with disability.
