Lauren S Power is an award-winning researcher, author, speaker, and advocate for women, youth, and migrants. She is a Ph.D. Candidate in International Relations at the University of Tokyo with a focus on multilateralism, global governance, and civil society; and an LLM Candidate at the University of Edinburgh Law School with a focus on Human Rights Law. She is an Adjunct Professor at Sophia University teaching on civil society and NGO management. Lauren is the Founder and Advisor of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Tokyo, a youth-led, youth-focused NGO that fosters international, inclusive, and intergenerational dialogue on pivotal issues for Japan and the world. Previously, Lauren taught at Temple University Japan as an Adjunct Professor, and has worked for and in partnership with the OECD, UN-MGCY, UN-ESCAP, UN-OHCHR, and the G20 2020-2023 and G7 2023; and she has been a contributing researcher to the Research Center for Sustainable Peace (RCSP), the Refugee Review, the Journal for Human Security Studies, and more.
