For 10+ years, I have been designing and leading projects in the healthcare sector with a focus on paediatric and existing facilities. I am fortunate to have been involved in all aspects of the design process from visioning and conceptual design through to contract administration and completion. After completing an honours degree in Fine Arts & Psychology, I studied interior design, and began my career as a designer. My varied background gives me a deeper understanding of human behaviour, psychology, and the arts which brings an added depth to the spaces I design. The experience I've gained has made me more aware of the impact I have on those who occupy the spaces I design. This has deepened my interest in learning about human behaviour in response to art and the design of interior spaces, so I have begun an Interdisciplinary Studies thesis based Master's program. My research will focus on the integration of art/environmental graphics in healthcare spaces using image and text to convey a message with the goal of positively affecting human behaviour and ultimately leading to better health outcomes for patients and families.
