About Lauren Foley

As a speech-language pathologist, I aim to improve the quality of life for individuals with a range of complex disabilities and special healthcare needs. I strive to use my voice to advocate for those who can’t, given my ability and position to elicit positive change for the individuals we serve. I hope to empower families and inspire individuals with special healthcare needs to demand respect, acceptance, and access to high-quality services. In doing so, I treat individuals and their families with compassion, empathy, and approach family-centered conversations with an open mind and listening ear. I closely collaborate with several disciplines to establish a shared vision and provide comprehensive services specifically tailored to each individual’s unique strengths and concerns. My overall goal is to leave the world a better place than I found it, in whatever capacity I can, by creating opportunities for functional communication and supporting individuals with disabilities to participate and live meaningful lives. As one of my strengths, I gain satisfaction from cultivating others' potentials as a developer. I enjoy watching others grow and making small improvements in their lives. Furthermore, I have the ability to accurately sense other peoples' feelings and frequently take others' perspectives. I take pride in being an outlet for others when they need help, advice, praise, or constructive criticism. My empathy allows me to understand the emotions of others and provide comfort to those in need.
