As a solo product and engineering team, I've built a product that brings solar to rental tenants, empowering tenants to save on their energy bills while enabling property owners to put solar on their rental rooftops.We solve the split-incentive problem with an end-to-end billing software using integrations with several data sources as inputs to our custom algorithm to generate accurate, bottoms-up, and transparent energy bills.We:- work with property owners or solar developers to put solar on rooftops- onboard tenants through our simple click-through setup flow (~5 min average account setup time; 100% tenant success)- generate monthly energy bills and auto-charge tenants via a Stripe integration for a no-touch, no-worry utility bill experience- issue payouts to property owners and create detailed reporting- support a dashboard for tenants to securely view their account information, see their savings at a glance, and access previous months' invoices for record-keepingI have built the stack on GCP, using the Django framework for a Python backend and an initial Jinja frontend (moving to React/Typescript soon to modernize our tenant dashboard and support better interactivity and velocity).

I am working as a force multiplier, taking cross-cutting initiatives from zero to one and working on ambiguous, engineering-wide problems. Some examples of my work in this role include: - Championed an initiative to introduce a standards alignment, assessment, and reporting system to our core product: architected the system, demoed a prototype, secured board buy-in and staffing resources, and am leading the projects through execution. - Created a security roadmap and implemented several of the prioritized items on it - Worked with an EM to bootstrap a client platform team that owns the iOS, Android, and Web infrastructure and ensures a high-quality experience and accelerated development for the feature teams, and drove the technical vision for the team - Designed, launched, and still maintain Seesaw's first engineering mentorship program - Drove an initiative to define technical leadership roles and responsibilities at Seesaw to ensure sustainable workloads, clear expectation and ownership, and leadership opportunities for the team - Drove engineering-wide improvements such as building, shipping, and socializing an abstraction layer over our ElasticSearch implementation with guardrails in place and smart defaults to codify our "best practices"

A PM, a Designer, and I led the Schools & Admins team, which owned driving engaging student learning at scale. In a hybrid Engineering Manager and Tech Lead role, I managed a team of 3-8 engineers, from early career IC's to some with years more experience than I had. I also worked with the other EM's on org-wide initiatives such as developing a new leveling system.We shipped products that empowered School and District admins, our paying customers, to manage their setups and understand how Seesaw is used in their jurisdictions. Some of these products include: - A flexible CSV rostering tool built on a generic CSV data system we built previously, which empowers admins to perform their own school setups and - An integration and unit testing framework and suite of tests for both the inherently complex automated rostering integration system and the CSV data system, designed to be usable across the codebase - An LTI app that integrates seamlessly with the Canvas Learning Management SystemSeesaw is a learning platform that brings educators, students and families together to deepen student learning. As a Tech Lead, I co-lead the Schools & Admins Team with a PM and a designer. Our team mandate is to empower school and district admins to help their students, teachers, and families succeed with Seesaw. We own the admin experience, including account and roster set up, curriculum and content management, and access to engagement data and metrics.Our current work includes empowering our customers to own and bulk-update their rostering data, and enabling our internal teams to support them far faster using a simply architected, scalable CSV API for our data models. Recent projects include dramatically scaling our rostering API sync to accommodate several times the number of customers an order of magnitude faster, and building a school-wide messaging option for administrators.

We own the admin experience, including account and roster set up, curriculum and content management, and access to engagement data and metrics.Some recent projects include building and maintaining tools such as a dashboard to sync hundreds of thousands of students, classes, etc. from third-party APIs such as Clever, as well as some lower-level infrastructural improvements and internal tools to help Support help our customers.Previously, I worked with the Families team helping build a tool to allow teachers to invite families by email or SMS, and other projects.

At Aurora, I:-Built a separate, private web app for internal data management.-Owned several sections of the code base and added new features regularly, both customer-facing and internal.-Developed tools that improved functionality and accuracy of our code-base and enabled users to succeed.-Shipped live code every other week.

Distributed Electrical Generation Systems in Rural, Off-grid Communities in Developing CountriesProject involves analyzing solar water pumping and other applications of renewable energy sources for a comprehensive off-grid energy system.

I was a TA for CEE 100, "Managing Sustainable Building Projects" during Autumn Quarter 2017 and am a TA for CEE 256, "Building Systems" this quarter (Winter 2018). My responsibilities include holding office hours, teaching section, holding tutorials on the software we use, and grading/giving feedback on assignments and exams.

Here, I worked on the zero waste program at cafés and eateries on campus, specifically focusing on compost. I developed a flexible, re-usable survey system for students to quantitatively assess the cafes' performance regarding waste-related activities.
