I am originally from Michigan and graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2005 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I ended up leaving my family and friends to move to Arizona during the summer of 2006 to become a teacher since there weren't any teaching positions in Michigan available. In 2013 I finished my last year of teaching 2nd grade with the focus on English Language Development in a Title 1 school in Laveen, Arizona. After 7 years I made the decision to leave the classroom to change career paths. I am very excited to start my journey towards becoming a speech pathologist. I went through speech therapy as a child and it really made a positive impact on my life and I want to be able to help others the same way I was helped. When I was a teacher, I worked with a variety of students who all had different needs. My most recent class mostly consisted of English Language Learners, students who received special education and speech/occupational therapy services, and many who came from low SES households. My class size was usually around 30, and I have absolutely loved being able to help each of them reach their individual potential over the years. My passion is making a difference in children's lives!
