In experiencing the fast-paced schedule of a campaign team, strong interpersonal skills were acquired.Acted as a liaison between campaign team leaders and constituent volunteers. Identified the most common concerns, fielded questions and presented feedback to the campaign leaders to adjust strategy, primarily through the following actions: • Oversaw and participated in nightly phone bank surveys to target possible voters and to identify the issues most important to constituents when deciding on a candidate.• Designed and utilized canvassing routes to optimize both reach and audience based on campaign platform• Represented both Congressional candidates at community fairs to extend their platform and directly communicate with possible voters• Wrote editorials for the campaign team that were adjusted for press. • Managed excel documents to track how recently each constituent had been contacted, in what way, and his/her level of volunteer work.

Spent three weeks meeting policy-makers while traveling around Washington D.C., learning how the American political system works. The program consisted of 35 seminars with people whose daily decisions make the Federal government run: members of Congress and their staffs, political party committee members, executive branch officials, reporters, lobbyists, and pollsters. To name a few, I had the pleasure to meet Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke, Congressmen Jim Gerlach, RNC Chair Reince Priebus and DNC Chair Howard Dean, New York Times columnist David Brooks and PBS commentator Mark Shields. As well as speakers at the Departments of Education, Defense and State.The focus of the program was to understand the interplay of policy-making and politics in the Federal government. Course requirements included attendance at all seminars, maintaining an interpretive journal, and writing a final essay analysis of politics and policy at the Federal level.
