Leading on the implementation and maintenance of the national contract for junior doctors in England, which has a total annual value of £3.5 billion. Role required exceptional analytical skills to identify contractual flaws and effective solutions, along with being highly adept in stakeholder management due to the reliance on collaborative working andnegotiation with national counterparts.Whilst in the role, I initiated or secured the following improvements:- Enhanced maternity pay provisions for junior doctors- New national relocation expenses policy, which secured over £10 million of additional investment- Improved contractual access to occupational health and implementation of recommendations- Research project regarding the impact of working patterns on pregnant women- Improvements to safe working reporting feature for junior doctors- Standardising pay arrangements for junior doctor shadowing period- Financial compensation scheme for doctors whose progression had been impacted by COVID
