Throughout my time in the field of Software testing, I have acquired many different skills. I have become proficient in taking a project through the individual stages of the software lifecycle. This involves working with Business Analysts & Clients to understand the requirements for the project, from that drawing up a Test Strategy Plan during the Analyse phase. The key to this relationship is to understand the correct questions to answer and to learn how to implement the requirements put forward to the software testing team. From this, I start to develop the actual test plan for the project in the Build & Design phase, again working closely with Business and also the developers to ensure that all eventualities are covered. Once the project has entered the Test phase, I am then able to use my skills to analyse the results using SQL queries and where necessary use TDQC to open and assign a defect to the relevant development / business analysts.I have proved that in addition to physically execute a project by myself, I am also able to perform as a Lead QC tester in order to direct & assist other software testers. As well as the obvious technical skills, performing such a role requires me to use Personal skills in order to create a friendly, professional and work efficient environment to ensure that projects get delivered on time and within budget.Working within a software testing team can be demanding, not least when working on multiple projects at any one given time. But I feel I have gained the necessary skills to effectively manage workload & deadlines and to learn to prioritize correctly. Where required, I have also proven that I am willing to be flexible, be that by travelling to off site centres in order to meet with clients face to face, or to work outside of normal hours in order to see the completion of a project.
