Laurence manages a 10 strong team running the Trust’s catchment scale Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) projects and is a consultant within the Trust’s financial trading arm, Ecosystem Service Planning. Laurence's specialisms include modelling ecosystem services and environmental surveying as well as monitoring freshwater habitats. He also has a wealth of experience lecturing and presenting on riparian and catchment resource management issues both regionally, nationally and internationally, as well as carrying out catchment research through his work with several Universities. Laurence has also bid successfully for local, national and international funds to help carry out and manage several important environmental habitat regeneration projects including several multi–million pound PES projects. He also has 8 years on the ground experience working with farmers to help change their management techniques. Coupled with this, Laurence has experience designing communication tools and interpretation strategies, which has developed out of his background in teaching secondary school science. The PES projects managed by Laurence include: WATER, an European Union Project on ecosystem services mapping, WEPES a project on wetland services, C-Plus a project developing carbon offsetting and UST a project funded by South West Water looking at improving raw water quality.
