Lauren is the founder of Let's Go Compost, a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to make composting free and accessible throughout the United States. Through our programs, we are able to provide workforce development to grow the composting industry, encourage and aid the development of decentralized composting infrastructure, and provide public education to proactively reduce compost contamination and increase demand for infrastructure.Let's Go Compost's programs are community-led with a focus on supporting school gardens and community gardens, all working to ensure composting and free food waste drop off sites reach all, irrespective of location or income.Lauren works both in the dirt (literally) with public schools and community gardens, while also remaining focused on the big picture - working with large organizations and policymakers to ensure composting accessibility and affordability are kept front of mind as infrastructure is developed. Let's Go Compost won Non-Profit of the Year 2024 by Circular Arizona. Food Systems ConsultantKnead Technologies Aug 2024 - Nov 2024As a Food Systems Consultant at Knead Technologies, I applied strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, and data-driven decision-making to manage branding, messaging, logistics, and operations for the "Knead Phoenix" pilot, under the City of Phoenix Food Systems Transformation Grant. I led the deployment of Knead's food rescue logistics app, building and training a high-performance local team to recover 7,620 pounds of edible food from large resorts, event venues, farmers markets, and small businesses, redistributing it to nearby decentralized food banks. Through diversion, I was able to divert 9.25 US tons of CO2e, recover 6,350 meals, and save 580,000 gallons of water. The pilot is projected to sustain an annual food rescue rate of 200,000 pounds, significantly enhancing community access to recovered food resources while reducing environmental impact.My expertise in operational efficiency, team leadership, and sustainable logistics enabled a reduction in CO2 emissions and food waste diversion, fully aligned with EPA best practices for environmental impact. This quarter-long contract served as a short-term engagement to provide Knead with foundational support as they established their Phoenix market presence, laying the groundwork for a scalable, sustainable food rescue model that Knead could independently build upon. -
