Community Group Advocacy And Social Change Lawyering Clinic At UC Law SF

As a clinical clerk at the Stockton Education Equity Coalition (SEEC) in the Community Group Advocacy and Social Change Lawyering Clinic, I worked on community led advocacy efforts towards education equity and the abolition of the Stockton USD police department. Working with my clinical partner and our supervising attorney at the ACLU NorCal and the SEEC.

I worked with the Name and Gender Change Clinic to help clients complete and file the array of forms and supporting documentation necessary to change their legal name and gender to best reflect their identity. I worked with attorneys from the LGBT Asylum Project to learn the process to complete and submit necessary forms at clinics open to the community.

At the California Records Act Clinic I worked with other clinic volunteers to draft and submit a California records request in support of the Santa Rita Jail Hotline concerning labor practices at Santa Rita Jail. I then worked with the cohort to process and organize the jail's responses to best serve Santa Rita Jail Hotline organizing and advocacy efforts.

As a government affairs climate intern, I tracked new and projected policy decisions at the federal level, organized petition and mobilization efforts, and supported Build Back Fossil Free coalition work.

As Professor Jodi Short's research assistant I read, analyzed, and categorically coded California State Water Resources Control Board decisions to support Professor Short's deeper examination of the role and weight of public interest standards in judicial decision making.

As a law clerk at OMLO I worked under the litigation practice group to research and draft pleadings and discovery for public entities including cities, school districts, and water districts. I also reviewed, summarized, and organized discovery including depositions and extensive document production.
