I have worked as a speech pathologist in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter region for more than thirteen years and have a strong reputation as a skilled therapist and clinical supervisor. I have developed unique health, disability and education skills, with experience in a variety of positions held within public, private and not-for-profit sectors. I established A Growing Understanding (a private speech pathology service for children and families in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens areas) in 2016. The service won a Lake Macquarie Business Excellence award in 2018 for Small Business Start Up Super-Star. I am a consultant for The Hanen Centre as an instructor of the It Takes Two to Talk program, training other speech pathologists in this program and approach for the parents of children with early communication difficulties. I have been a judge of the Speech Pathology Book of the Year competition since 2014. I am regularly invited to provide education sessions to various community groups and early childhood centres.With a strong sense of community, I am an active board executive of the Newcastle Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Association (organisers of The Show). I was their youngest and first female president to be elected in the association's century old history.
