I have worked for Brandy Lee at Big Sister Studio, a local Fayetteville slow fashion brand, for a few years now on and off. Brandy taught me so much about apparel and sewing. However, I recently discovered how much keeping up with social media was dragging her down and moved to work that section of the business instead of alterations. I run @bigsisterstudio on Instagram and TikTok. I create posts, stories, and reels, also doing the photography and film work behind the scenes (along with editing). Since I began posting for @bigsisterstudio we have started to get more and more likes and followers, so I must be doing something right! I also helped build a Big Sister Studio website through Shopify, which included shooting product shots and Adobe Photoshop work to achieve the perfect photos. The website looks consistent and organized while still being pretty, I love how it turned out. I’ve even done lots of modeling for Big Sister, from clothes to her original product Snapkins (a reusable napkin system).

Who Knew Fashions is an eBay business that sells secondhand fashion. We also sell on Poshmark and Mercari. I am very passionate about sustainability in the fashion industry so I really enjoy working with clothes from Goodwill. I photograph the apparel for eBay and even sometimes play the buyer role and pick out merchandise from Goodwill for eBay. I have knowledge on what brands are worth more than Goodwill is asking, for example designer items or vintage. I package the orders and take them to the post office daily. Since the merchandise is coming from Goodwill or other secondhand stores, it often needs repaired. Since I have a lot of experience with sewing, I can fix these problems and get the items eBay ready!

At Maurices, we offer a special type of customer service. Associates are called stylists, because we do so much more than just work a cash register. When a customer walks into Maurices, stylists greet them with a smile and a "how are you?" before even starting to talk about clothes. I helped so many customers find the perfect outfit- wether it was for a date, a party, a vacation, or even just because, my people always walked out feeling beautiful and confident! Often at Maurices customers come in looking for their favorite worker, asking "Is Lauren here today?" At Maurice's, the customers happiness is the most important thing.
