Community Hub Directorship: During the pandemic when many K-5 students were falling behind in distance learning, San Francisco led the way in providing equitable education for marginalized students with the creation of 80 Community Hubs around the city. I was recruited to lead one of those community hubs to assist students falling behind in their classes. I led a staff of six guide 10 struggling students to successfully complete a year of distance learning in the community hub. Summer Program Directorship: In the summers of 2021 and 2022, I assisted in securing and managing grants of over $500,000 each summer, planned scaffolded educational curriculum, oversaw classroom and recreational lessons, and led a team of 3 certified teachers, 22 youth workers, and 3 mental health specialists in both an in-person summer program and virtual program, sponsored by San Francisco's Department of Children, Youth, and their Families, Summer Together Initiative. Under strict COVID-19 guidance, we had an enrollment of 66 students in Grades 2-12 in 2021. We increased our numbers to 107 K-12 students in 2022. I facilitated all staff trainings in goal setting, lesson planning, de-escalation, restorative justice, and classroom management. Oversaw all day-to-day operations, as well as ensured the health and safety of all students and staff.
