About Lauren George

Long Story, Short:Once upon a time, I quit my job and moved across the country to learn how to be a software developer! Today, I'm a full-stack, polyglot developer and am looking for my next opportunity to focus on software automation, infrastructure, and operations..........................................................................................Short Story, Long:I've loved electronics since I was little girl and got my first PC when I was 7. From grade school to high school, I was hacking my GameBoy Color, prettifying my NeoPets site with JavaScript and CSS, and scripting Lua on Windows Mobile 7. I didn't really think about software development as a career until I was an adult and after teaching myself Ruby for a year, I took the plunge and moved from North Carolina to Northern Ohio to learn enterprise Java web development.Through a combination of luck and hard work, I landed a position at a small custom software shop and haven't looked back since! As I've progressed, I focus on being an ethical, compassionate software developer that takes into account the people on the receiving end of the software I create; whether they be users, other developers, or my future self. When not coding, I'm talking shop with my spouse, playing with our dog, or reading a good book.

Listed skills include Java, Spring, Mysql, Sql, and 24 others.
