The Venetia Valley Family Literacy Program serves primarily Spanish-speaking families who have children ages Pre-K to Grade 3. The goal of the program is to: empower parents to become full partners in the education of their children; empower children to meet preschool and elementary school standards; provide families with a strong foundation for education; and support the long-term literacy goals of both children and parents.• Provide metric- and goal-driven literacy and parenting education to families through home visits, classes, field trips and other related activities and events. • Tutor in the children's classroom and collaborate with teachers for lesson planning• Collect grant-related data, develop family literacy activities, and refer families to services at various local social service agencies.
