For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about finding a career that involves helping other people. I began to focus primarily on mental health because I believe it deserves more recognition than it currently receives. An individual's state of mind very literally determines the outcome of any given circumstance, and there is an immense amount of power in that. I recently graduated from Miami University with my Master’s in Social Work. I also passed the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Masters Exam, which means I am officially a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). Over the course of the past year, I completed 1,000 clinical hours at my practicum placement at Dayton Children’s Hospital in their Day Treatment Program. In June, I will begin my role as a Behavioral Health Therapist at Dayton Children’s. My primarily responsibilities will include developing and delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed, intensive individual, family and group-based psychotherapy as part of an interdisciplinary team.
