I play a key role in redesigning the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) website. In this role, I am required to build strong working relationships, communicate clearly, negotiate with stakeholders, conduct and analyse research, design solutions, and deliver product outcomes that align with DVA’s strategic direction.Conduct multiple rounds of quantitative and qualitative user research and usability testing. This includes:• conducting moderated and unmoderated sessions, using methods such as in-depth one-to-one interviews and group sessions.• planning and preparing research activities to assess how users navigate the site and where they struggle to find information, and map users’ mental models and how they would group content on the website.• using analysis tools such as personas, mindsets, affinity mapping, user stories, and journey and experience maps.• leading the evaluation of research findings to identify opportunities for improvement.Build effective relationships with stakeholders, and liaise with them to create and maintain a prioritised backlog of features that meet user and business needs and support the client’s strategic goals.Work within a multi-disciplinary Agile team of user researchers, interaction designers, content designers and developers to ensure deliverables meet user needs and align with validated design concepts.Represent Oakton when confidently presenting designs, negotiating solutions and communicating discoveries from research findings, to stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.Apply Agile principles and practices to manage project priorities and deliver increased value to both users and business areas. Includes facilitating Agile events to ensure the team remained focused on project goals and achieve incremental milestones.Lead the user-centred design of the Beta website. Includes creating wireframes, user flows, low- and high-fidelity prototypes, interface components, pattern libraries and a design system.

In this role, I developed and designed modern textbooks for endota Wellness College students. The college is the new training branch of endota spa, Australia's largest day spa network. It trains therapists in the endota method of beauty therapy, while delivering nationally accredited training. The textbooks and learning materials were carefully compiled and edited to engage students in their learning. It features content that's easy to read and understand, with the language tailored to suit the target audience. Interactive learning activities were included for the students to practice and revise their skills and knowledge. The textbooks were designed in Adobe InDesign, and printed with either saddle-stitch or perfect binding. The layout is highly visual, and utilises white space, beautiful and relevant imagery, and endota's branding to create an engaging, all-in-one student-friendly resource. As part of the design and development process, I worked with subject matter experts from across Australia to ensure the textbooks were industry relevant, met the training package requirements, and would inspire students to successfully learn and develop their skills. Within this role, I also created online courses through Moodle, a learning management system (LMS). This involves creating quizzes, assessment uploads, forums, student guides and other learning material. These courses complement the textbooks and face-to-face training, which results in a comprehensive and immersive learning experience. In addition, I developed digital, interactive assessment outcomes booklets for trainers to mark a student's progress according to the training package requirements.

Throughout university, I worked on freelance projects designing graphics and websites for local clients. This included logo and website design, writing and editing copy, and setting up user-friendly websites for client use. I selected and curated content, graphics, images and photographs, and liaised with clients to achieve their desired outcomes.

In this role, I managed student records for CMA Training Group, a registered training organisation (RTO) that delivers nationally accredited qualifications in beauty, makeup and business. This position required knowledge of student records management, compliance requirements for the vocational education sector, and effective administration duties. This involved enrolling students by creating and entering data into their client profile in the records management system. I collected correct and compliant documentation from students to complete their enrolment, and managed this progress by maintaining multiple Excel spreadsheets to keep track of requirements for compliance purposes. I also created CHESSNs for students applying for VET Student Loans and USIs for all students. I determined student eligibility for CMA programs, government loan programs such as VET Student Loans, and state funding options such as Skilled Capital and Smart and Skilled. This involved entering students into state government applications such as AVETARS. I also liaised with industry partners to set up work experience opportunities for students.I processed student completions, which involved checking their assessment outcomes for discrepancies, entering their unit results, and issuing and printing a certificate of completion.As part of my role, I also processed cash, EFTPOS and credit payments, created and sent invoices, and entered payments and applied credit notes in the accounting software Xero. This included balancing the tills, completing a weekly till report, and creating and implementing payment plans for students.

As part of my studies, I worked with HerCanberra for two months on an unpaid design internship. Throughout the internship, I created gifs for the official HerCanberra Instagram feed and videos for the launch of the Canberra Centre beauty precinct. I designed digital advertisements for HerCanberra clients, and researched and developed ideas for marketing material, such as business cards.

Within this role, my job duties included front of house service, coordinating high tea functions, providing quality customer service, food and drink preparation, stocktaking, packaging wholesale stock, operating point of sale systems and most importantly, developing an extensive knowledge of teas (yum!).
