Upon graduating from nursing school, I went straight into working with children. Pediatric nursing is challenging and rewarding for me. I have found myself working for the Nurse Advice Line and have found a passion for helping parents get through those fevers, colds, cuts and scrapes. I love the unpredictability of the calls we get. I may be helping a parent cope with their teenager’s depression, figuring a correction dose for a diabetic, and helping a mom dislodge a baby toad from her preschooler’s nose in the same hour. My goal is to continue to improve our processes in little ways to better help our population. I have acted as the Quality Improvement committee chair for our unit for several years to facilitate my goals.
