STEP is a partnership with Summa Health, Summit County Board of DD & Hattie Larlham that gives people with disabilities the opportunity to learn employable skill in a medical setting. This three month program allows each trainee to experience three types of jobs and learn what they can accomplish and what their passions are.

Helping corporations, students, organizations, children and adults with meaningful service experiences where they can assist children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or help impact programs and services provided by Hattie Larlham throughout NE Ohio. Educating the public about the benefits of hiring adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as explaining how service provided by Hattie Larlham programs support and enrich the lives of those we serve.

I pursue opportunities for people with disabilities to contribute to a company’s bottom line or to their workforce. Our organic garden will be expanding acreage and I am seeking partners who need a grower of produce, herbs or floral items. My objective is have Hattie Garden be a local organic suppler to restaurants, grocery stores and floral companies throughout NE Ohio. Other partnerships we are seeking are companies that need a food production facility or assembly and packaging work done for them.

My special talent with Hattie Larlham has been my adaptability. I love a new challenge and enjoy variety in my work. I am currently on our new venture to create meaningful employment to people with developmental disabilities thought Hattie's Cafe & Gifts. Our cafe's employe people with developmental disabilities and my daily goal is to develope their skills so they succeed. I over see our bakery, develope new recipes, packaging and quality control for all our cafe locations. I have developed the mechandise in our online shopping cart at www.hattiescafe.org. My challenge is balancing everything from the designing of new products to training our staff in production to marketing and working directly with customers on custom gift basket designs.

Taught "The Body Saftey Program" to children and empowered them to speak out and understand who to tell if a bad touch happens to them. Promoted all aspects of the book Some Touch Is Good Some Touch Is Bad at book signings, with media on radio and TV, and to parent and school groups.

Staffing Solutions is a full service employmnet agency that specializes in temporary positions, temp-to-hire, and perminate positions in office professional and clerical support. I developed a strong relationship with companies in Summit, Stark and Cuyahoga county and placed employees in positons.
