Hier ging ik individuele gesprekken aan met gasten en hun naasten, en namik deel aan verschillende werkgroepen. Ook heb ik geholpen een aantal vieringen te organiseren.Ik ben hen heel dankbaar voor deze waardevolle samenwerking!

During my studies I am working as an intern with the new studentplatform NEWConnective. My main focus here is to work on a book that examines the meaning of the heart (in the broadest sense). NEWConnective is a very good place to work on responsibilities autonomously. The wonderful team supports me fully and gives me all the space I need to explore my talents and interests.

Notorious

Notorious is the online magazine of the UvA study Religious Sciences. Previously published as paper magazine, however, after having only one printed edition in three years I decided to change things. Having the magazine online as some sort of blog allows students to freely publish anything study-related (or not!) from all kinds of media, even movieclips or filmtrailers are more than welcome. Of course everything passes my supervision before it appears online. My goal is to create a platform for students and those interested in Religious Sciences and anything related. Amsterdam

This is an amazing job for a student in religious sciences. Not only do I get to climb the beautiful church towers of Amsterdam (the Westertower and the tower of the Old Church), the reward for this journey up the several small stairs gets rewarded with an amazing view over the city. During my tour I tell the visitors about the history of the churches and the city of Amsterdam. Apart from the fact that it's wonderful to work on such locations, with all the history, it's also very interesting and rewarding to start conversations with the tourists joining my tours. The travel-experiences and great stories do make me a little bit jealous, but are just inspiring to hear.Last but not least; I love to share my knowledge of the city and my favourite places to go, with whoever is interested.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working here, with a team of great colleagues and enough space to learn on the job. Het in het Engels (of eventueel Nederlands) geven van een rondleiding door de verschillende kerktorens van Amsterdam. Deze zijn de Oudekerkstoren, de Westertoren en de Zuiderkerkstoren. Rondleidingen omvatten een half uur, waarin verteld werd over de geschiedenis, architectuur en functie van de toren. In groepjes van 6-15 man, verschillend per toren, klom ik de trappen op en af. Het was hier van belang de leiding te nemen en een gepaste (betrouwbare) houding aan te nemen. Hier heb ik veel geleerd van de toeristen die je leert kennen in zo'n kort tijdsbestek en van de geschiedenis van Amsterdam. Een prachtige bijbaan als Religiestudent!

Leiden

Volunteer - photographic assistent in the photo studio at the exposition of Jimmy Nelson's 'Before They Pass Away' in the Museum of Cultural Ethnology in Leiden. Main task: photographing visitors of the exposition in an appropriate setting and look to match the exposition and additional administrational tasks. Photographing was done in a fully equipped studio. Extremely interesting experience, have learnt a lot from Jimmy, as he is a wonderful coach.

Lush taught me a lot and gave me enough space to grow during my working period there. Everything from monthly trainings about their products, ingredients and campaigns till the constant focus on customer satisfaction and consulting (skin, hair, etc.). Being a supervisor I was in charge of the shop during a working day, including opening and closing the store + administrative tasks. Also I was responsible for my fellow colleagues working that day. I have really enjoyed working with/for Lush as the team was like a group of friends and everybody was equally enthusiastic and excited to work with the products and customers.
