Laurie Barron is Assistant Director at The Artist Room, a recently opened contemporary gallery in London where his role includes all aspects of sales, artist liaison, exhibition and client development, writing, research and operations. Prior to that, Barron worked at Alison Jacques Gallery working directly with the Artist Liaison, Exhibition and Sales departments on international projects with artists such as Sheila Hicks, Dorothea Tanning, Robert Mapplethorpe, Juergen Teller and Erika Verzutti and also as a correspondent for Ocula, an international Gallery Platform, Magazine, and Art Advisory where he interviewed figures such as Elena Filipovic, Chief Curator of Kunsthalle Basel and painter Shara Hughes. In 2018, Barron graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in History of Art from the University of Kent and the University of Hong Kong and in 2021, Barron completed an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths University. Barron has also contributed to 10 Magazine, Elephant Magazine and Art Basel.
