I began my teaching career through Teach For America, a non-profit organization nationally recognized for recruiting top teachers to improve educational equity across the United States. My two-year service with Teach For America was incredibly empowering and uplifting that I chose to continue working within my school district for an additional four years to continue the mission of Teach For America on my own. I was placed in a Special Education Setting in which I not only fostered change within the educational expectations of my students, but also empowered parents to become advocates for their children's education.In 2009 I left the profession to become a stay at home parent and focus on my family. During this time I took the time to pursue additional passions. I began exploring the practice of Yoga and recently became a 200 hour RYT as well as spent time volunteering with the Eating Disorders Resource Center in Los Gatos, California. Recently I was selected as an Intern at Corepower Yoga and will teach beginner level Yoga classes. Now that my child is older I am excited to pick up my career again and re-enter the workforce and follow my passions of teaching and serving others.
