Profile bio

About Laurie Ormond

I am a proofreader and editor living in Sydney. I work on all kinds – commercial genre fiction, biographies, pop culture histories, cookbooks, corporate documents and academic monographs. I have provided secretarial and administrative support to a human services government department, and to companies from the Australian Army to tax advisors. I have a PhD in English Literature and Cultural Studies. I wrote about gender, violence and magic in the fantasy books of Australian fantasy writers Sara Douglas, Alison Croggon and Fiona McIntosh. If I could chose a book to recommend me it would be 'The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Boat of Her Own Making' by Catherynne M. Valente. Or perhaps 'Jane Eyre', another good adventure story.

Listed skills include Editing, Proofreading, Academic Writing, Research, and 21 others.
