Provided architectural and construction documents for renovation projects for Oakland County Parks and Recreation. -Projects included the historic Glen Oaks English-style clubhouse and the Addison Oaks English Tudor-style manor home which required updating the banquet halls and other related facilities. -Scope consisted of interior finishes with some architectural improvements and MEP coordination.-Feasibility and conceptual design work for Ford Motor Company headquarters involving reconfiguration and renovation of public spaces, offices, and penthouses.

-Taught graduate course in urban planning and architectural preservation issues focusing on international, national, and local issues. Mentored students in proper research methods and research paper styles. Served on studio reviews from undergraduate studio to the master thesis studio.

Involved in numerous Detroit-based planning, urban design and architectural projects for clients including Greektown Casino-Hotel, the Children’s Center of Wayne State, and DTE Energy. Lead and coordinated fast-paced renovation projects. -Orchestrated planning, conceptual design, schematic through construction administration, consultant coordination, client meetings and presentations, code review, infrastructure analysis, and facilities assessments. -Partnered with DTE Energy to assess viability of innovative urban design implementations, historically-significant building renovations and new building infrastructure for company real estate acquisitions. -Responsible for intern management and mentoring. -Consulted with developers for a potential mixed-used development in downtown Ann Arbor. Prepared a historical preservation assessment that gave an overview of ordinance, design and community issues pertinent to the historic districts that bordered and overlapped with the proposed development. Formulated recommendations to secure Ann Arbor’s Historic District Commission approval while maintaining a favorable business outcome for the development.

Coordinated large field verification effort for The Luxor Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas. Verification effort included field surveying, documentation and code review for over 3000 hotel rooms for future interior renovation. -Managed group of interns for fieldwork effort as well as for in-house prototypical hotel room drawing set for client’s review. Coordinated with interior designer and construction management team on field findings. Assisted project manager with overview of scheduling and billable hours. -Assisted in developing and revising documents for three penthouse developments of MGM’s City Center complex in Las Vegas. Drawing sets included revisions to interior design, as well as to architectural, technical and mechanical designs. Coordination with MGM’s management team as well as MEP. Project team was comprised of licensed architects and senior project architects in order to produce exceptional design and construction documents for a very exclusive clientele, which involved tight deadlines and schedules. -Earned USGBC LEED silver certification.

Designed and supervised renovations of 1904 historically significant, personal residence. Major projects consisted of restoration of exterior wood siding, rehabilitation of kitchen and baths, plumbing and electrical upgrades and conversion of fieldstone basement to living space and storage. Recipient of Ann Arbor Historic District Commission's restoration award for historical residence and featured on HGTV's Old Homes Restored, episode #113,2001.

Managed 18 client-based accounts for JoAnn Fabric Stores, Inc. Projects consisted of commercial retail rollouts of new and rehabilitated construction ranging in size from 35,000 square feet to 45,000 square feet. Involved in all aspects of project development from space planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. Managed and coordinated construction activities between client, developer, developer's architect, and construction management teams as well as involved in coordination work with structural and MEP consultants. Managed in-house team of one to two interns involving tight deadlines and schedules. Prepared financial assessment and feasibility studies for client. Worked on in-house financials and profitability with project architect and principal pertaining to JoAnn Fabric Stores, Inc.

Projects consisted of preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, and new building construction including National Park Service sites, university facilities and other educational entities, and a variety of other building types. -Involved in all aspects of project development from space planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. -Assisted in construction management for the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources that utilized LEED standards and subsequently became a USGBC LEED gold rated building. -Compiled and wrote project manuals consisting of specifications, project summaries, and historical background reports (HSR) for National Park Service projects. -Involved in coordination work with clients, consultants, and engineers.
