From a typical high school student to the President and Founder of My Ideal College, my story reflects the twists and turns we often encounter on the path to purpose. Initially drawn to the allure of marine biology, my passion for the water collided with the unexpected hurdle of math. Shifting gears to Communications, I found my calling in fundraising—or so I thought. The stress and uncertainty that followed led me to a career counselor who redirected me toward Training and Development. For over two decades, I thrived in the corporate world, climbing the ladder until a pivotal moment prompted a shift. As a mom, I launched My Ideal College, fueled by the mission to spare teens the confusion I faced at 24—college degree in hand but unsure of my next steps. Now, I lead a team dedicated to providing clear, science-backed insights for teens and parents navigating the crucial choices after high school. My Ideal College: Empowering Futures, One Assessment at a TimeAt My Ideal College, we're more than consultants; we're architects of clarity. Educational And Career CoachMy Ideal College Jan 2018 - PresentMarietta, Georgia, UsParents of high school students can avoid costly mistakes when choosing a college by planning ahead. Through the use of validated, research-based Harrison Assessments and coaching, I help high school students identify careers that they not only can do but also want to do. Research shows that if your job contains at least 75% of what you naturally like to do, you will be three times more successful. I identify those jobs for high school students, work with them to identify the best post-high school education, and create an action plan. For many years I have helped companies hire, develop, and retain the best employees in jobs they love. I know what companies are looking for in new hires and college grads. Leadership SpeakerPenske'S Women'S Leadership Forum Dec 2015 - Dec 2015"I am overwhelmed by the participants’ tremendous amount of energy, enthusiasm and progress made since Penske’s inaugural Women’s Leadership Forum! Twenty-two high-performing women attended our two-day event that included workshops on professional and personal development, goal planning, and creating a personal brand. In addition, leaders from various disciplines within the business talked with the group about career paths at Penske and shared both personal and professional stories along their career paths. Prior to the forum, Laurie Genevish provided Harrison Assessments for each participant designed to measure engagement, motivation, interpersonal skills and retention factors related to specific jobs. She then facilitated an insightful discussion on how to capitalize on job suitability traits. Tricia Molloy followed with a ‘CRAVE Your Goals!’ talk so they could stay positive and focused on what matters most. During our follow-up accountability call, participants discussed how they were cleaning out physical, technical and emotional clutter, and raising their energy by joining recreational sports leagues, registering for marathons, and practicing affirmations. The assessments also helped them obtain a clearer picture of their leadership potential and prompted candid career development conversations with their managers. We are committed to continuing our support of these women and look forward to an increased pool of diverse talent within Penske.”Carie Seymour, SPHR, Director of Field Human ResourcesPenske
