From my previous post-doctoral experiences I became fully independent and obtained a three-years fellowship in Brazil with three scholarships to hire students. I maintained strong connections with my previous institute with Dr. Amblard on SED-fitting and I developed a link between the extragalactic teams at Valongo and the Astrophysics & Astrochemistry Laboratory Group at NASA-Ames (Dr. Christiaan Boersma, Dr. Louis Allamandola and Dr. Jesse Bregman) as detailed in my research program. After only three years in Brazil, I developed a strong network: I am working with the three professors of the extragalactic team in Valongo, I started a project with one of their recently graduated PhD Student (J.P Nogueira-Cavalcante) on AGN activity in green-valley galaxies in COSMOS, I am involved in the PhD of Luidhy Santana bringing my expertise on photometric redshift, I am co-advertising two master students, Yanna Martins whose project correspond to an extension of the work that I brought from NASA-Ames and 5 undergraduate student. I also started a strong collaboration with the team of Claudia Mendes de Oliveiria in IAG, Sao Paulo using S-PLUS survey.

During my postdoctoral appointment at NASA-Ames I broaden my skills that I developed during my PhD on Spectral Energy Distribution (SED) -fitting techniques: e.g., Lephare, Magphys, CIGALEMC, DecompIR (with estimation of an AGN contamination). The use of the very robust, yet challenging technique of SED-fitting allows to derive the physical parameters of the galaxies, especially with the apogee of deep and sensitive far-IR data (Herschel). With the new generation of sub millimeter and radio telescopes (ALMA, SKA, ...), the mastery of such technique is crucial. I developed a good knowledge of photometric redshift estimate (Lephare) and multi-wavelength data sets (e.g., COSMOS, PEP & HerMES, Stripe 82, S-PLUS, etc.) which are assets to lead research nowadays in the era of big surveys with terabytes of data.During my appointment at NASA-Ames, I studied early-type galaxies (ETGs) in the local Universe, extending my field of expertise of galaxy evolution. It is allowing myself to understand the dust-hidden activity in galaxies through cosmic time to build a broader picture of galaxy evolution, linking the dusty- high-z progenitors to their local massive, red descendants. I used this postdoctoral appointment to explore new areas and study ETGs and cluster environments, attending conferences and building a new network.

During my PhD I developed a solid knowledge on high-redshift (z~2-3) dusty galaxies with a valuable expertise on infrared (IR) data, both from archives (using Spitzer data) and with my wide implication in the Herschel community. I had indeed an active involvement in the HIPE (Herschel’s pipeline) development and I did the PACS (Herschel) data reduction of the COSMOS field being an active member of the PEP & COSMOS international collaborations.

I worked on Characterizing the InfraRed luminous galaxies at high z (1 < z < 3) in the COSMOS field . I developed skills on IDL programming, statistics on large samples of galaxies and use of infrared data.I also participated in the research leading to a publication from a rank-A journal: Deep Spitzer 24 μm COSMOS Imaging.
