Optimize and provide direct clinical care to women Veterans at NY Harbor VA Healthcare System. Collaborate with researchers to enhance literature on Women's Veterans Health.

Designed and implemented strategy to lead, manage, and evaluate innovative initiatives to enhance health care delivery. Represented VA with internal and external stakeholders across governmental divisions, along with private and public institutions. Spearheaded the development of operational research to build national policy and programs. Led strategies to integrate gender-specific care into overall health system, promote innovative medical technologies, and guide implementation of national VA policies in reproductive health.

VA’s Office of Community Care is a key component of VA's high performing network with an operating budget of over $14 billion, 7,000+ employees across 5 business lines (purchased care, revenue collection, stakeholder relations, performance improvement and report, administrative support services), and multiple contractors. Serve on the senior leadership team of the nation’s largest integrated health care system, caring for over 9 million Veterans at 1,700+ sites across the country. Lead the development of strategies for optimizing the high performance network and make buy models, internal controls and quality standards, governance structure and financial controls across the organization.

Inaugural class of Health Innovators Fellowship

Provided hands-on delivery of obstetrics and gynecology clinical services to under-served populations at the Allen Pavilion, Audubon Primary Care Practice, Broadway Practice, and the Washington Heights Family Health Center. Taught and supervised residents and medical students in an outpatient-setting and at Sloane Hospital for Women and Children. Served as a mentor and coach via lecturing and precepting to Obstetrics and Gynecology Residents and Medical Students at Columbia University Medical Center. Lectured to Public Health Students. Researched decision risk benefit analysis of repeat steroids on preterm labor. Coordinated Global Health work with Partnership for Eritrea and Eritrean Women’s Project initiatives. Served as Co-Director for Postgraduate Education in International Obstetrics and Gynecology for Eritrea residency program. Co-developed and implemented a strategy to launch the first Obstetrics and Gynecologic Residency Program in Eritrea, East Africa. Developed first year curriculum and assessment tool for evaluation of surgical skills of candidates. Organized and led multiple in-person training sessions with the Eritrean Women’s Project in collaboration with the Eritrean Ministry of Health and the United Nations Population Fund.

One of 12 selected in a national competition for prestigious Fellowship. Served as Special Assistant to Secretary of Veterans Affairs on issues relatedto emergency preparedness and health systems training for preparedness. Led briefings on issues related to emergency preparedness, pandemic flu, and women veteran clinics. Led development of a measurement tool for evaluation of preparedness at Veterans Affairs Health Care Systems. Led effort to increase recruitment of women veterans to VA’s compensated work therapy programs.
