Currently serving as the Support Functions Director responsible for oversight of Preparedness, Recovery, Mass Care, Logistics, Disability Integration and our Individual Disaster Care (Spiritual Care, Health Service and Disaster Mental Health) Services for the NJ Region of the American Red Cross. Proficient in the development of programs, creation of standards, and dissemination of information in alignment with established matrices in an ever changing/evolving environment with a unique ability to quickly develop rapport to engage others in a meaningful way that results in successfully meeting objectives.

North Jersey Region

This position serves as the lead functional expert in a Red Cross Region for the Mass Care function. Tailoring national program offerings for the Region and communities within the Region, providing technical expertise, training, and leading regional implementation of Mass Care, this position supports regional employees and volunteers in the disaster territories to build capacity in the local community for the disaster cycle. Specific functions of this position include program implementation, remote team building of employees and volunteers, and soliciting feedback from end customers.•Implement strategies, initiatives, processes and procedures that support the successful region wide day-to-day and major relief operation provision of Mass Care services. •Ensure the delivery and availability of American Red Cross services to diverse communities.•Ensure all Mass Care activities are in compliance will region and national procedures and policies.•Develop, communicate and implement Mass Care priorities, goals and objectives in support of the region’s territories.•Manage National Shelter System reporting for both Red Cross and non-Red Cross shelters.•Ensures access to Safe and Well, a web based communication system for clients of the Red Cross for registration within the shelter environment. •Ensure functional needs shelter requirements are identified, resourced and met.•Identify feeding requirements based on regional needs analysis and support the Logistics function in negotiating and managing those contracts.•Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and provide oversight for Mass Care role that Red Cross plays at both local level as well as in the co-lead role of ESF-6 within the National Response Framework. •Ensure the roles and responsibilities of the Red Cross identified in tribal, local, state and FEMA agreements (MOUs, MOAs, etc.) are being met. •Develop and cultivate professional relationships with key internal and external partners and organizations.

Morris, Sussex, And Warren Counties

Responsible for Red Cross response in Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties from single resident incidents scaling up to national responses.Establish and implement program/service goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Develop and implement initiatives that support the assigned program or service.Organize and facilitate Disaster Action Team operations within Morris, Sussex and Warren counties.Support community and labor groups in developing and updating their disaster response plans.Ensures disaster caseworkers are recruited, trained and scheduled, to support daily disaster casework.Lead, evaluate and provide appropriate development opportunities and recognition of disaster instructors and volunteers.Assign and coordinate staff members and volunteers on project assignments.Assign volunteer staff to represent Red Cross at community tasks forces and special projects.Train, coach, counsel and evaluate performance of direct reports and volunteers and give significant recommendations as to those supervisory actions.Evaluate and report effectiveness of program or service and prepare recommendations for continuous improvement.Monitor program outcomes and results to reinforce organizational accountability.Develops and conduct trainings/presentations to promote Red Cross services and programs to community.Develop and cultivate professional relationships with key internal & external partners/organizationsProvide analysis, advice and consultation on Chapter programs and services.Work with volunteer counterparts to ensure key volunteers are utilized and ensure depth within the function.

On boarded new volunteers from interview, background cheack and placement matching skill sets with Red Cross needs. Worked with youth developing Red Cross clubs and initiating projects that were coordinated, facilitated and carried out by youth volunteers.
