E. Gordon Grau Fellow: Contaminants Of Emerging Concern
CurrentAs a 2024 E. Gordon Grau Fellow with the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program, my focus is on developing a comprehensive needs assessment and monitoring guide for Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs). My work involves identifying and addressing current knowledge gaps related to CECs in Hawaiʻi and the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands, while also reviewing global research and management strategies. By tailoring best practices to the unique needs of the Pacific, I aim to enhance the protection of our region's ecosystems and coastal communities from the impacts of pollution. In collaboration with local agencies, I am committed to contributing to efforts that safeguard food and water security across the area. I am also passionate about supporting public outreach and community-based education on CECs, while developing strategies for future monitoring and management.
