Developed the strategic vision for the organization, amplified existing programs and introduced new events, increasing the fundraising opportunities for and raising the national profile of the organization. Highlights:- Activated the establishment of the Freedom House Museum in the basement of the NVUL headquarters (at the former headquarters of Franklin, Armfield & Co. - the building that once housed the largest domestic slave trading company in the country). Successfully raised over $400,000 to develop the museum concept. - Lobbied Congress and federal agencies and engaged the board, community and volunteers to secure widespread support for the museum project. - Recruited a team to complete the project – a first-class interactive museum within an accelerated two-year timeframe.- Secured corporate sponsors including Freddie Mac, Comcast, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and Xerox to fund programs. Took the event from a 400-plate dinner to a 700-plate dinner and increased funds raised from $100k to $700k.
