As the CEO and founder of EyeGage, I apply my expertise in artificial intelligence and eye-analysis technologies to create innovative solutions for drug detection and prevention. I have over 10 years of experience in developing and leading cutting-edge research projects in robotics, computer vision, and machine learning, resulting in multiple publications, patents, and licenses. EyeGage is my passion project, inspired by my personal experience with a loved one who struggled with alcohol addiction. My vision is to use eye-analysis techniques to identify individuals who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and to provide them with timely and effective intervention and support. In addition to EyeGage, I am also the executive director and founder of ProfBrown's STEMulation, a nonprofit organization that aims to increase the exposure and engagement of underrepresented youth in STEM-related fields. Through ProfBrown's STEMulation, I leverage my background in electrical engineering and business administration to design and deliver interactive and immersive learning experiences using robotics, virtual reality, and gamification. My mission is to inspire and empower the next generation of STEM leaders and innovators, especially those from marginalized and disadvantaged communities.

Robotics Research Engineer & Project DirectorGeorgia Tech Research Institute Jan 2018 - Jan 2020Atlanta, Georgia, UsVirtual Reality Mission Planning Simulator• Managed a team• Developed project scope• Tracked and managed budget against plan• Integrated the HTC Vive VR Headset and hand controllers with a multi-agent simulator using C#• Developed intuitive gestures to control autonomous agents• Created a demo video of the product for potential sponsors• Conducted close-out tasksRobotic Arm Manipulator Software• Programmed UR5 robotic arm using C++ in the ROS framework to de-mold a microfluidic device from aluminum mold• Led a group of engineers• Implemented Agile software development with Jira• Drove design to completion as per committed schedule• Success led to government in funding -
Assistant Professor Of Electrical EngineeringLouisiana State University Jan 2017 - Jan 2018Baton Rouge, La, Us• Led a research group with 6 students: 4 graduate, 2 undergraduate. One undergraduate student graduated from LSU, was accepted to Georgia Tech, and awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. The second undergraduate student was offered summer research opportunity with the US Air Force.• Managed $100,000 budget for research lab• Taught undergraduate "Introduction to Robotics" course• 30 sophomore students with 95% pass rate• Designed special topics graduate course about the benefits of robotics in healthcare• 7 students with 100% pass rate -
Biomedical Engineering Postdoctoral FellowEmory University Jan 2016 - Jan 2017Atlanta, Ga, Us• Collaborated with scientists to develop a system that monitors biomarkers (gait and eye gaze) for Alzheimer’s detection• Developed a Windows application with C# that allowed a clinician to display an image set to patients• Integrated The Eye Tribe camera into the UI with C# to track eye gaze while viewing image sets• Analyzed the eye gaze data using machine learning techniques to observe any Alzheimer’s pattern for detection• Delivered product to the customer and they are successfully using the system to collect and analyze eye gaze data -
Graduate Research AssistantEmory University Jan 2013 - Dec 2015Atlanta, Ga, UsMy research explored the visual paired comparison (VPC) task, which is a recognition memory test that has shown promise for the detection of memory impairments associated with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Because patients with MCI often progress to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), the VPC may be useful in predicting the onset of AD. VPC uses noninvasive eye tracking to identify how subjects view novel and repeated visual stimuli. I collaborated with a team of scientists to develop a low cost, easily accessible hardware and software that monitors the eye gaze of patients while viewing image sets. -
Summer Robotics Camp Coordinator & InstructorMorehouse College Apr 2015 - Jul 2016Atlanta, Ga, UsI collaborated with a team of educators to coordinate a middle school summer robotics camp and developed the overall camp curriculum, which detailed the daily lesson plans and experiments. -
Nsf Graduate Research FellowGeorgia Institute Of Technology Aug 2010 - Dec 2015Atlanta, Georgia , Us• Programmed the DARwIn-OP and Robotis-OP2 humanoid robotic platforms using C++ to develop a robotic educational agent.• Developed an engagement model, which yields a non-invasive method of monitoring student engagement when performing high-level cognitive tasks.• Developed a framework for creating re-engagement strategies, verbal and nonverbal cues, on a humanoid robotic platform that aid in enhancing learning. • Developed a performance model, which identifies individualized student learning rates and validates that learning is achieved and converges in the fully-adaptive robotic system. -
Science Learning Integrating Design, Engineering, And Robotics (Slider) Teaching AssistantGeorgia Institute Of Technology May 2012 - Aug 2013Atlanta, Georgia , UsI facilitated the integration of design, engineering, and robotics into the 8th grade physical science curriculum. In addition, I supervised and assisted Cobb County middle school teachers and students with robotic-based projects.I collaborated with a team of engineers and educators to develop a K-12 summer sustainability camp curriculum. In addition, I developed lesson plans, designed experiments, and determined supply budget allocation for the air quality directive.
