Education is my passion and I work in many sectors of it. There are multiple and competing ways to teach so why chose just one. If I'm not teaching online I am training TRIO professionals, or providing social justice trainings for various audiences.

Guided participants through tough issues dealing with social justice and advocacy with the aim is to help them understand different experiences in an increasingly multicultural society. Ultimately the goal was to illustrate the dynamics of power and privilege and how this affects our lives at the personal, group and systemic levels. Finally the goal was to develop strategies to deal with oppression in our own lives.

• Provided oversight of an initiative that served approximately 65 minority male students designed to assist them with matriculation at the university.• Supervised a staff of six undergraduate peer mentors.• Created an assessment tool for the program.• Compiled monthly reports for the program that summarized the successes, challenges, and overall progression of the students in the learning community.• Coordinated monthly workshops that enhanced the educational, social, and interpersonal skills of the young men.• Created an Acclaimed Lecture Series using the expertise of Alumni of the University.• Coordinated Mentor training development for faculty, staff and peer mentors.• Monitored and maintained records of participants’ program involvement and other required activities.

• Provided direct oversight of student athlete development for approximately 260-student athletes university wide.• Supervised scholarship funding for 13 varsity letter sports that totaled approximately $250,000• Served as the sole liaison to the Office of Financial Aid, the university bookstore, the Office of Housing and Residence Life, the Office of Admissions, and other auxiliary services.• Served as the Safe Zone representative for the LGBTQ community in the department• Coordinated monthly seminars for student development• Served as the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)• Served as the NCAA Champs/Life Skills Coordinator• Implemented two new major initiatives to the student athletes and staff: (1) the Student-Athlete Graduation and (2) the Champs/Life skills Student Excellence Award.• Created NCAA Apple team at the University (Drug & Alcohol Awareness Committee)

• Provided oversight of the Student-Athlete Enhancement Program designed to ensure student-athlete academic success at the university.• Supervised a staff of 12 full-time staff members, 3 graduate assistants, and 15 undergraduate students who worked collaboratively to serve 260 student-athletes.• Administered an annual budget of approximately $80,000.00.• Provided oversight of the year-round study hall program for the 260 student-athletes.• Managed payroll and all other administrative duties for the program.• Wrote (?) and received a Supplemental Support Grant from the NCAA to fund a computer lab for student athletes and professional development opportunities for staff members.• Implemented the Helping Athletes Rise to the Top (H.A.R.T.) initiative for at-risk student-athletes.• Introduced and implemented Grades First, an early alert and student tracking system, to the university.
