President, Wellman Engineering Resins And Vice President, Wellman Advanced MaterialsWellman Advanced Materials 2013 - 2016Initially recruited by PE-ownership to bring stability and reputation to the Wellman Engineering Resins (WER) division, subsequently growing WER 10% in 2014. Upon acquisition by Shanghai PRET Composites in 2015, promoted to commercial oversight for the entire Wellman Advanced Materials across all divisions, including WER, PRET’s thermoplastic olefins (TPO), RPET fiber, and lanolin. WER is the largest recycler of carpet, harvesting the nylon face fiber and converting it to plastic resin for injection molding applications meeting not only the OEM part specifications but with an important environmental benefit of reducing landfills and greenhouse gas emissions. Leveraged long-term, senior-level relationships at Ford to gain acceptance for RPET staple fiber which opened the door to 7M lbs. of new nonwoven underbody components at a major tier in a segment Wellman had limited previous sales.Recommended the closure of the unprofitable RPET flake business due to depressed virgin PET cost.Led successful three-year share growth strategy resulting in several new products, OEM material specifications, part approvals, and successful customer negotiations of 4M lbs. in the largest untapped recycle-based nylon 6 markets such as air intake manifolds (AIMs) and grill opening reinforcement (GORs) where recycled nylon 6 had never been used. -

Our BU company mantra was "raise the roof" as the profitability took off.Drove PS volume by exporting to SA and ABS by gaining new business in a large segment previously abandoned. The success of the team and BU in the Americas and globally was so great, we made it very difficult for BASF to JV it with another company.
