Mr. Bathgate is involved in a diverse array of civic, philanthropic and political activities. He currently serves on the Board of Visitors at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas; He was Republican National Finance Chairman under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush; The President's Advisory Committee on the Arts of the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.; a Council Member of The Woodrow Wilson Center, Washington, DC; a member of the Board of Regents of Seton Hall University; a Member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center; Board of Trustees of Newark Boys & Girls Clubs; and Board of Ocean County College Foundation, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Liberty Science Center (Jersey City). Mr. Bathgate has been the recipient of a number of awards and honors, including an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Monmouth College; National Conference of Christians and Jews, Monmouth-Ocean Counties Chapter Brotherhood Award and Award for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Human Relations, Business and Civic Affairs; Distinguished Alumnus Award (25th Anniversary) for Villanova University; Boy Scouts of America, Ocean County Council's Distinguished Citizen Award, Community Service Award and Silver Beaver Award; Ocean County College Humanitarian Award; Lakewood Hebrew Day School Humanitarian Award; Distinguished Service Award from Ocean County College; Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Newark Award for Caring; Kimball Humanitarian of the Year Award; Jewish National Fund Tree of Life Award, and Trustee Emeritus of Lakewood Prep. Mr. Bathgate has formerly been a member of the: Board of Trustees of Villanova University; Board of Overseers of Rutgers University Foundation; Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America.
