• I lead a team tasked with rebuilding the flagship product in Mendeley’s portfolio. My role involved:
• Defining and achieving ambitious quarterly growth targets using the Objectives and Key Results framework.
• Prioritising the backlog to ensure that the new features deliver real value to our users. The rebuilt product had to support the previous complex set of use cases, but also appeal to new users to meet the business.
• Defining the new product KPIs and tracking the progress in Adobe Analytics.
• Working closely with UX and UI to conduct user research and analysis, then using this to create beautiful and functional designs.

• Designing and implementing a new company digital strategy that has delivered consistent growth. By introducing an agile workflow and customer focussed product development into a traditional publisher I have.
• Hiring a varied digital team to deliver the new strategy effectively.
• Increasing eBook profit (50% YoY)
• Overseeing the conception, design, development and delivery of a market leading digital music learning platform. At year 1 end, we had 26,000 active users (25% over target).
• Managing an internal and external team of designers, developers and content editors to deliver multiple projects on time and within budget.

• I was a senior member of the ebooks team, responsible for converting our published books into rich, complex and interactive e-books. This required close teamwork with a wide variety of stakeholders across the.
• Developing the strategy for the ebook publishing program.
• Working with a team to create, quality check, and distribute HarperCollins’s backlist ebooks.
• Managing a design team to create an advanced colouring book widget compatible on all ebook platforms.
• Extensive work with the education department to create interactive digitised versions of their core learning products.
• Proposing and heading development on a web-portal designed to retain customers and upsell HarperCollins e-books.

I was an integral part of the digital editorial team, proofreading and correcting HarperCollins e-book titles. This demanded a keen editorial eye to quickly spot errors in formatting and text. My role also included training HarperCollins employees in the processes of e-book editing, metadata creation, working on digital innovation, and reviewing author.

I assisted the editorial team by proofreading manuscripts, helping with the development of their new website, writing author bios and cover copy, and general administration. I also assisted in the important process of adapting a section of their teaching guides for HarperCollins in Abu Dhabi.

My role as a volunteer with an international children’s charity required me to be versatile and responsive to a wide range of tasks. They included writing and editing press releases, interviewing and writing about public figures, teaching children about disaster mitigation, and training rescue workers how to swim.

I edited and helped to write numerous reports, press releases and briefing documents; assisted in disaster preparedness and response training days in the city schools and neighbouring villages; and worked to improve the English of other employees in the NGO. I took on a number of temporary office and administration roles to save up money to travel and work abroad. The longest of these was working for 3 weeks at International Marketing Group (IMG) in London.

I was part of an administrative team that was responsible for the processing and organisation of the large amount of correspondence and data received daily by the housing trust. My duties included drafting correspondence, maintaining tenant records, minute taking, invoicing, liaising with tenants and assisting them with benefit claims, and collating.
