• Collected unused computers lying around the office to create my own 6-node Hadoop cluster (https://goo.gl/photos/K8GdqMkzWxi8TgYx9) in order to store and analyze Apache access logs for our ecommerce platform in an attempt to answer questions of production management with quantitative information. I was able to look at a client's email-a-wishlist usage and showed that over a period of 69 days only 23 emails were sent through our system. With this information, product management was able to tag a project, relating to email-a-wishlist functionality, with a much lower return on investment and therefore deprioritize it.• Created a Rally (https://www.rallydev.com) javascript app that displays a grid listing all user stories and defects per sprint including Feature and Capability information. The motivation behind this was to eliminate a weekly manual process requiring an employee to create an excel spread and email it to the dev team. This was done on my own time so that developers don't waste time using the excel spread sheet that may be incorrect.• Reengineered the Social Media Service (a semi-small social media template and toggling REST API) unifying the REST API endpoints in a sensical way so as to facilitate understanding of the endpoints and improve readability, thereby increasing acceptance. Converted the application from spring 2.5 to 3.2 transitioning all app contexts from XML to java-config and converting from hand-written bean wiring to autowiring.• Technically lead the conversion of product and category URLs from a “plain” format, e.g. /product/index.jsp, to a “natural” format, e.g. /blue-and-white-shirt/product.jsp, enhancing platform SEO.• Implemented page caching for our ecommerce platform through the use of Ehcache’s web caching.• Received a “Critical Talent Stock Award” in 2014 for performance during my tenure, especially in 2013. Reward was in the form of RSUs that vest over four years.

• Taught Math 109: "Survey of Mathematics". This is a course for non-majors.• The course touches on topics in Set Theory, Graph Theory, Number Theory, Geometry, Dynamical Systems, Counting/Probability.• I made the course challenging with tough biweekly homework assignments, which in part give the students an appreciation for the way mathematicians think. Students learned not only about some mathematical topics not covered in high school, but also how to study mathematics, as it isn't just formulas and computation.
