I have chosen to focus my working life on assisting and advising charities, social enterprises and not-for-profits, ranging from single issue initiatives through to national networks and global structures. I studied and trained in commercial law and now use those skills to help organisations through their entire life cycle including:• establishment and registration • advising on governance • dealings with regulators such as Companies House and the Charity Commission• specialist advice in relation to grants, contracts, funding and fundraising• mergers and restructures. I also advise in the niche areas of information law (data protection in particular) and intellectual property (with a specialist focus on trade marks and branding).
