Dr. Drake currently serves and President and Chief Executive Officer of LEADership, Education and Development Program, responsible for the overall operational and strategic leadership of the organization. LEAD program is a global knowledge and experiential learning organization that enable youth of diverse backgrounds to convert their high potential into high achievement and responsible leadership. LEAD began in 1980 when a group of professors from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and executives from McNeil Pharmaceutical collaborated to create a rigorous academic enrichment program for under-represented high school students. Since that time LEAD not only operates its academic institutes in business, but has expended its model to engineering, computer science and beginning in 2014 health sciences. Today some of our academic campus partners include, Duke University, Stanford University, Dartmouth, University of Michigan, University of California at Berkley, California Technical Institute, University of Maryland, Villanova, University of Cape Town ( South Africa) and University of Western Canada.LEAD is now considered the preeminent high school to college to career diversity pipeline and boasts an alumni base of over 30,000 African-American, Latino, Native-American, Asian and Caucasian youth.
